"Beat Phase" is a number of performers all playing the same note but with each instrument detuned by a small amount (1Hz to 20Hz). The performers start and stop playing on a beat at any time that they feel providing that another performer has stopped or started since they last made a change.

This performance was played on 8 synthesisers each playing A4 (A above middle C) each detuned 1 Hz from other synths, spanning from 440 Hz to 447 Hz.

It was recorded using Ableton Live 10 with: Element 2 Synth from Waves, sine wave at 440 Hz and square wave at 444 Hz; Babylon Synth from W.A. Production, sawtooth wave at 441 Hz and triangle wave at 445 Hz; Flow Motion from Waves, triangle at 442 Hz and sine wave at 446 Hz; and Surge from the Surge Synth Team, square at 443 Hz and sawtooth wave at 447 Hz. Stereo movement is provided by Wave's Brauer Motion plugin.
